Guilden Morden Church of England Primary School

Welcome from the Headteacher

Hello! My name is Judy Goldsmith and I am the Headteacher of Guilden Morden School. I’d like to welcome you to our school  website which provides comprehensive information about life at our school. Guilden Morden Primary School is a small Church School which is very much at the heart of the local community. Visitors to the school often comment on the friendly welcoming atmosphere and this is something we pride ourselves on. Although the school is growing we remain small enough to know and care about each individual and as Headteacher I am committed to working with the staff, pupils and parents to ensure that everybody within it is able to flourish and develop as a learner.

Since I joined the school in 2008, the school population has increased and the school has shown a steady upward trend in pupils’ achievement and attainment.  In 2011, Ofsted noted “The school is outstanding in the care, support and guidance it provides for individuals. It is highly effective in helping pupils to overcome any barriers to learning. It works closely with families in this, intent on ensuring that pupils thrive at school and become successful learners.”

Our Key Stage 2 results in Summer 2015 reflected this and for the second consecutive year we received a letter of congratulations from the Local Authority. 100% of the children achieved at least level 4 in reading, writing and maths and 100% achieved the higher level 5 in the grammar, punctuation and spelling test. We were one of only twelve schools across the whole of Cambridgeshire to achieve this.

We are committed to working in partnership and welcome constructive dialogue with all stakeholders to help us continue to move the school forward to become even stronger. If, after visiting our website, you have any comments or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me by email:

Our Mission Statement

Guilden Morden School will provide a high quality, broad based education in a Christian setting and will continue to develop its place in the village and community.

Our Aims
  • We will provide a happy, positive, creative learning environment for all children and staff in line with the Every Child Matters agenda.
  • We aim to encourage all children to be independent learners and to take responsibility for their learning in order for them to achieve their full potential.
  • We aim for every child to be literate and numerate.
  • We will provide a safe supportive environment where children and adults feel confident to challenge themselves.
  • We will provide an inclusive education where all children are valued for their individuality.
  • We expect all members of the school family to treat everyone with care, courtesy and respect.
  • We see education as a partnership between parents/carers and school and will work to promote this view.
Our School Prayer

This is our school; let peace dwell here. Let the room be full of contentment; let love abide here. Love of one another, love of mankind, love of life itself and love of God.

Let us remember that, as many hands build a house, so many hearts make a school. Amen.
